Skinemy #4

Yes, the glass is empty to prove a point...what should be in the glass is not the skinemy, what's not in the glass is!

You may not be drinking enough WATER.
That's right, real hydration comes from the inside.  No matter how much or what you rub, spray or pat on your skin, you will never have skin that is as sufficiently hydrated as it should be if you are not drinking the amount of clean, pure water your body needs.
I may be one of the worst offenders here, so I'm offering my voice of experience.
The 'rule' of thumb that is highly touted is one half of your body weight in ounces over the course of each day.  In other words, if you weigh 100 pounds, you would drink 50 ounces of water throughout your day.
Many of you find that you don't drink enough because you are afraid you won't be able to make it to a convenient restroom as often as you might need.  We have seen that occur (in those without compromised health issues) when you first start consuming an appropriate amount of water.  But, after your body realizes you're going to keep it hydrated at all times, it begins to retain (in a good way) the water it so desperately needs and puts it where it belongs, like your skin, and you should notice less urgency to find a restroom.  Once your body learns to trust you're going to give it what it needs, it will use it everywhere it needs it.
Hydration is also like a bath for your insides.  It gives your body a chance to rinse out what it's finished processing and deal with absorbing the good nutrition from your healthy diet and fluid intake.

Give your skin an opportunity to really get the moisture it needs to look it's best and hydrate from the inside while you moisturize from the outside!
Find the appropriate amount of fluid consumption for you and make it a habit to stay hydrated.  It's always a good idea to speak to your health professional about exactly what is best for you so, go, get yourself some wise counsel and drink your skin hydrated!
